21 Day Fix EXTREME Day 1

Day 1 is not exactly over and I've already "cheated" (2 Banana Oatmeal Cookies). It's not the worst thing I could do (Rizzo), but on a day -- the FIRST day-- with zero fruit allotments* and limited "flour/bread" (yellow container) carbs*, it still counts as an official "cheat". I also worked out early this morning and immediately ate a spinach egg scramble (no toast) after. The work out was tough. What I like about it: it's only 30 minutes and the exercises last 30 seconds for the set (as opposed to 60 seconds/ exercise in the non extreme version of 21 Day Fix). What I don't like is all the jumping. I know. Sigh. When a workout has "PLYO" in the title I should understand it will require jumping. I just am not a huge fan of jumping and never really have been. Maybe it's a big boob thing. Perhaps after I shed some weight, the jumping part will become easier. I was proud of the fact that I was able to do every exercise, but not for the full 30 seconds sometimes. I had to modify beyond Sharise sometimes. Yet, I felt super accomplished when I finished. I feel as if the workouts will definitely improve my physical strength. Today, I used 3 pound weights on exercises where weights were used---whether the exercise called for "heavy" or "light" weights. I didn't have to got without weights for any of the exercises. Another added boost is that this intense, but do-able workout has kept me focused on making good eating choices most of the day. I certainly don't want to un-do all the hard work in the kitchen. For lunch, I had a salad with 1/4 of the dressing packet that came with it. I also drank unsweet tea. I nibbled on carrots for a snack. And I had 2 banana oatmeal cookies that tasted even BETTER after hours of no "flour"/bread" carbs (I AM eating carbs in my veg and have two "flour/bread" carbs I can use at dinner.). I don't foresee a massive binge this evening, but we will see. I have lots of protein portions left and nut butter allotments that I am looking forward to during dinner. I still have some veg left as well. I have to admit, the buzz of energy is amazing. I feel good on this eating program. Am I hungry? A little bit. My fault for not planning meal and snack times like Autumn Calabrese recommends. So the journey continues and I remind myself that a journey of a thousand steps always starts with the first one.

Keep walking in faith and light + keep being most excellent, my peeps!

*For anyone worried about lack of carbs today, 21 Day Fix Extreme has different food plans. I chose the most extreme that involves carb cycling (I think that's what Autumn Calabrese calls it)--2 days I have very low carbs that excludes fruit but included high protein, veg and still has nut butters and 2 yellow containers of carbs. Every third day of the program is normal carbs, including fruit. It follows the normal, non-extreme 21 Day Fix eating plan based on the calorie formula. All number of portions are individual for each person and based on a formula provided in the eating plan books. The first thing any person going on 21 Day Fix or 21 Day Fix Extreme should calculate their calories before starting each 21 day cycle. Depending on caloric needs, different people will have different daily amounts of portions for: protein, fruits, carbs, healthy fats, nuts/seeds, nut butters, veg. It is sound nutritional advice and my calories are NOT freakishly low...They are perfect for my size and still allow me to lose weight. Just wanted to put that out there in case people thought I was on a dangerously low calorie or limited program. Nope! That is NOT the case.
