After I completed the usual 21 Day Fix workout last night (Cardio Fix), I previewed next week's EXTREME workouts. It was a tad bit daunting. The people with Autumn Calabrese in the filming studio, doing the program with her were ALL in excellent shape. Even the person completing the modified exercises was in GREAT shape, way slimmer than I currently am. And I began wondering if I was setting myself up for failure with this new Extreme workout. Maybe I was being unrealistic and this EXTREME version was too advanced for me at this point. It's not like I can do the regular 21 Day Fix workouts without modifications or with ease. by no means have I hit the pinnacle of those. Hello my good friend, Doubt. I see you brought along Fear. Thanks for stopping by. So, as I was writing my morning pages this morning (an Artist's Way/Julian Cameron thing) I start to get nervous about this new program and the exercises. In a very meek voice in my head I was saying, "I THINK I can do these...well...if I modify the modifier..." And I wondered if I should even try. I think of Autumn Calabrese's own words in one of the 21 Day Fix workouts where she says, "Don't put limits on what you can do." This gives a little push to the idea that I can do this. Not only are the workouts effective and short (hello, Lazy Jane), another reason I like the 21 Day Fix program is for the contagious and authentic positivity Autumn brings to every single workout. She is very much about equanimity as well when she says something like (I'm paraphrasing her from a 21 Day Fix workout), "don't think about the exercise before, don't think about the one you just did, just focus for a minute on the one you are on. When you are finished, let it go." So, because I have my good buds Doubt and Fear stopping in for a slurp of Joe, I decide to Google it like it is some sort of reliable Magic 8 Ball. "Should obese people do 21 Day Fix Extreme?" Who pops up? Coach Tulin. This plus sized, BBW, rock star was just the necessary inspiration I needed to push the negativity aside and know that I CAN and WILL do the 21 Day Fix EXTREME. Seeing her in all her beautiful and fabulous glory, I owned the idea that I AM beginning the Extreme 21 Day Fix program on Monday as planned. Thank you, Coach Tulin. Thank you Autumn Calabrese. Gratitude abounds.
Walk in grooviness and peace + continue to be most excellent, my peeps.
